Matthew 25 International became involved with India after one newly converted family gave the entire 2nd floor of their home to begin an Assembly of God church. The church continues today with over 300 in attendance. The 2nd floor once served as a dance studio. It now serves as a beacon of hope for the lost. In addition, this family was so changed by the gospel; they started an additional work called Word of Life Ministries.

The pastor and oversight is supplied by Pastor David Mohan of New Life Assembly of God. New Life is a 30,000 member church located in Chennai, India.

Word of Life Ministries now has 29 churches with pastors, 87 evangelists and an additional 21 churches working with them throughout India. Their work includes feeding the poor, helping the leprosy patients, establishing churches and evangelizing the lost.

Proverbs 19:17 (KJV) He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

Weekly Leprosy Feeding Program
Because of the continued prayer and financial support, we are able to be part of feeding 150 leprosy patients every Tuesday. This program began in 1991 in Chennai and Vizag. It still continues today.

Christmas Clothing and Feeding Program
During the holiday season new clothes and micro rubber shoes are distributed to leprosy patients along with a Christmas dinner.

Tsunami Housing and Church
Ten row houses and a church have been completed in near Chennai, Tamil Nadu. An additional 40 houses are planned for this area.

Church Plant
Araku Valley church plant (Vizag) is on schedule for 2011. The property has been purchased and the paper work is in the final stages. We will establish a temporary shelter for worship until we can get the funding for the new church.
